The Boutique in Palermo

SELECTION MADE OF PURE EXPERIENCES

The boutique was founded in 1964 in a 19th-century building on Via della Libertà 5 in Palermo.

Torregrossa brought the great brands of Italian and international fashion to the Sicilian capital, moving through eras and trends without ever giving up the taste for elegance.

  • 1964

The boutique opens, designed by architect Collura, hosting Mila Schon, Irene Galitzine, Lancetti, and Andrè Laug. In the seventies, following the renovation by architect Rodolfo Loffredo, the most innovative fashion trends were featured: Azzedine Alaia, Anne Marie Beretta, Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake, Claude Montana, and Thierry Mugler.
  • 1982

The boutique is renovated by architect Piero Pinto, restoring the original volumes of the nineteenth-century architecture. In the eighties, the new rising stars of fashion found their place: Gianfranco Ferré, Romeo Gigli, Yohji Yamamoto, and Comme des Garçons.
  • 1992

TThe store is expanded and renovated, again based on a design by architect Piero Pinto. A large corner is also created, entirely dedicated to the Chanel maison, alongside brands such as Prada, Jil Sander, Dries Van Noten, and a new corner dedicated to Dolce & Gabbana.
  • 2015

Torregrossa is renovated once again. The interior restructuring, designed by the Milanese architect Piero Pinto, is accompanied by the acquisition of one of the most prestigious brands, Christian Dior, to which a large corner is dedicated. The new concept revolutionizes the store’s spaces, giving it a modern and innovative image, while always respecting the boutique's philosophy: combining the luxury and elegance of major fashion brands with the search for new talents.
  • 2023

A new renovation and expansion of the boutique takes place, designed by the Palermo-based architect Antonio Battaglia, dedicating two spaces, one to Celine and the other to Loewe.
